Just a Minute Now

by Nicole Treasure

Many of us believe there is simply not enough time.

Not enough time to spend with the people we love. Not enough time to finish the work.

Not enough time to eat well and exercise. Not enough time to laugh or play.

Not enough time to give back. Not enough time to sleep.

We are busy with our busy-ness. We all say time flies.

Regardless of your age, gender, nationality, or whether you work outside or inside the home, you have the same quota of minutes in a day as the next person.

How you spend them is up to you.

Just A Minute Now offers ideas on how to steal back a minute. It’s your time after all.

Just wondering…

  • Do you know how many minutes you have in each day?
  • How many of these minutes are you spending on yourself?
  • When do you block out time in your calendar or diary for you?
  • On a scale of 1-10 how well are your using your time?
  • What could you do with Just a minute now?

‘Yesterday is gone.
Tomorrow has not yet come.
We only have today. Let us begin.’

– Mother Theresa

Surviving is when you just make it through the day. Phew.

Thriving feels and looks entirely different. When we are thriving, we grow, feel joy, flourish and there is a vigorous skip in our step as opposed to the slumbered shuffle of just surviving.

Just a minute now

You may have heard yourself say it once or twice. Maybe a lot.

I can’t do that. I can’t be brave. I can’t manage it. I can’t make it. I can’t be there. I can’t say something.

There may be a range of elaborate excuses that follow. It’s because…well you know.

Then one day you wake up and, boom, you decide to TRY. Time to Reinvent Yourself….

Get out of the passenger seat. Step up.

You are not between a rock and a hard place. There will be twists and turns, but it’s just time to lose the ‘t’.

So now we try it again. Yes, I can do that. Yes, I can be brave. Yes, I can manage it (even though it terrifies me and is a stretch). Yes, I can make it. Yes, I can be there. Yes, I can say something.

What a difference a little ‘t’ has. Lose it and go forward.

Be audacious, bold, brave, present. Be you…without the ‘t’.

It used to be, I can’t and I won’t, and now it’s, ‘I can, and I won!’

Let’s go.

Just a minute now….
